You just have to buy a home on Camano Island. We are located just 50 miles from downtown Seattle, WA via Interstate 5 and just 1 1/2 hours to the Canadian Border. You just can't believe what a great place living on Camano Island is. Camano Island offers 52 miles of shoreline. Camano is the perfect place to find that waterfront or water view home of your dreams.
Along with all the incredible homes to purchase you can also enjoy all the events and activities that the island has to offer. Those events include The Mothers Day Art Studio Tour. Many of the artists on the island open their studios to the public and allow everyone to come and see their stunning artwork. You will see Glass Blowing demonstrations, painting techniques and other styles of artwork. Every year this event seems to get bigger. This is just one of many artist events on the island every year.In addition, Camano Island has Galleries, Premier Coffee-roasting house, Alpaca Farm, Orchid Grower, Fruit Orchards and the Camano Island Commons marketplace for tasting fine wines and fine food.We have our annual Chili Chowder Cook-Off. This event is not to be missed. The local businesses make their favorite Chile and Chowder and then the public comes in and votes for their favorite ones. This event is a big hit on the island not to mention trying dozens of different chili and chowder.Opening day at the Camano Island Yacht Club is also lots of fun along with additional events like the Salmon BBQ, Sunday Brunches, and monthly dinners.Camano Island's various parks are a perfect place to go and see the local wildlife. Be sure to visit the Camano Island State Park. 
It has 134 acres of land to explore. Take a long walk along the beach and pick up driftwood and shells. Be sure and watch the Eagles that hover above the beach. The best place to park is down at the boat launch area. It provides plenty of parking and you can just park next to the beach. Great for day use. The park also offers overnight camping in a very peaceful setting.
Crabbing on the island is fantastic. All the locals have their favorite spot for their crab pots. We like to put our pots in near Elger Bay. Turkey legs seem to be a favorite for crab bait. You can pick them up at any of the local grocery stores on the island. At the end of crabbing season you have eaten so much crab you just might turn into one.
